girledworld partner with Zoos Victoria for Women in STEM school conferences.

Females are drastically underrepresented in STEM subjects and jobs across the planet.

On the eve of National Science Week 2019, educate and inspire your Year 7-10 students about career pathways and meet amazing and inspiring women working in STEM fields.

Zoos Victoria, St Aloysius College and girledworld have teamed up to host two youth events at Melbourne Zoo on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd August.

Connect your students to female role models and real-world case studies.

Help them understand how their choice of school STEM subjects links to the future of work.

Tickets are already selling fast! Cost is $19.00 per student (normal Zoo entry fee) and teachers are free.
Schools are welcome to bring up to 15 students but please register early to avoid missing out.

Through hands-on activities, guest speakers and reflection, this interactive conference will explore:

  • Female STEM mentors and role models

  • Real-world case studies of women in STEM

  • The role of STEM in the future of work

  • How STEM subjects and courses can lead to future STEM education and careers

  • How personal strengths, skills and experience can be translated to STEM study and careers

Students will walk away from this conference inspired, educated and excited by relatable real-world STEM mentors and will also tap into their learning, skills and interests to explore their place in STEM.
