GIPPSLAND STEM ONLINE PROGRAM GOES LIVE ON MONDAY May 18, 2020

program coincides with National Careers Week (May 18-24, 2020)

 

Our award-winning career education events and online e-learning programs bring global industry, startup and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Medicine) leaders to students to teach them about new ways of working, future career pathways, emerging digital technologies and employability skills.

This year we’ve partnered with the Victorian State Government to launch an online Gippsland Digital STEM Summit to excite students across the region about the world of STEM, STEM career pathways and the role of STEM in the future of work.

This FREE self-paced, online learning program will be distributed to schools and students across the Gippsland region on Monday May 18, 2020, and will include a FREE STEM Digital Resource Pack for teachers and students. Please fill out form below.

The girledworld Gippsland Digital STEM Summit is an interactive, self-paced online learning program that will enable 1000’s of Gippsland high school students to learn from amazing global and local virtual STEM industry mentors, access activity-based e-learning modules about STEM pathways and future of work employability skills, and explore real-world STEM career education to inspire them for tomorrow’s world of work!

Designed for students in years 7-12, the online career education program will enable students to:

  • Meet amazing role models from leading global and local STEM companies (video library)

  • Explore the role of STEM in the future of work and how it is part of everyday life and work

  • Develop understandings of STEM employability skills and 21st Century digital competencies

  • Reflect on how their own interests and strengths can be translated to STEM study, skills and career pathways

  • Access powerful mentorship and social learning moments by going ‘inside’ STEM real-world environs


    This self-paced asynchronous online learning program links to Victorian Curriculum Design and Technologies, Science, Personal and Social Capability and Sustainability cross-curriculum priorities. The program also includes a STEM and employability skills e-resource Digital Pack to support Gippsland educators and parents.
