girledworld - Melbourne Writers Festival 2019.

For more than three decades, #MelbourneWritersFestival has been bringing together the best writers, thinkers and performers from Australia and around the world to revel in the power of words to unite and inspire us.

In 2019 Melbourne Writers Festival artistic director Marieke Hardy once again sprinkled her unique brand of magic party glitter ✨over a jam-packed program of events! And girledworld was delighted to be part of the #MWF19Schools’ Program which spanned over 70 sessions to inspire students and teachers across Australia.

girledworld Cofounders Madeleine Grummet and Edwina Kolomanski joined the festival to facilitate a MWF19 youth-led discussion and open Q&A forum exploring the role of social media and selfie culture in teenage personal narrative and identity development in an age of on and offline communication. Students in Years 7 - 10 joined us for an afternoon of conversation, inspiration and thought-provoking ideas.
